Summer Battle 2024

This summer is going to be epic in Feilding with our summer battle throw down at the Feilding Skatepark, Best Trick and Biggest Splash, Bombing Competition at the Makino Aquatic Centre. This is a great FREE event for youth and young at heart to come together from the Manawatū region and beyond. Compete in one or both competitions. Come and show us your skills!


Skateboarding - Best Trick Competition

Friday, 26th January
Feilding Skatepark                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Corner of Aorangi & Hobson Street, Feilding
11am – 12pm (Registration)
12pm – 3pm

FREE Sausage Sizzle!

COMP FORMAT:
Competitors will be judged on their best tricks on the skateparks street area and bowl.
Judges will decide the winner based on the difficulty/technicality of the trick. Generally high scores are awarded for ledge and kicker tricks for the street area. Skateboarders who attempt the bowl will be judged in the deep end (7ft) on tricks e.g. Airs, Lip Tricks.

ENTRY CRITERIA:
13 – 16 years old (Boys)
17 and over (Men’s)
13 years old and over (Girls and Women)

PRIZES: Local judges will award three prizes for each division of each best trick.

1st Prize: Skateboard deck and Grip Tape
2nd Prize: Skateboard Wheels and Bearings
3rd Prize: Skateboard Branded T-Shirt and Socks

A variety of spot prizes will be handed out on the day and, free swim pass coloured wrist bands for the Makino pool for competitors.

FREE REGISTRATION:
Register on the day at the Feilding Skatepark from 11am and a wrist band will be given to competitors.

SPECTATORS:
Free entry for spectators, everyone is welcome.


Bombing - Biggest Splash Competition

Friday, 26th January
Makino Aquatic Centre
10 Council Place, Feilding
4pm Competition Starts

COMP FORMAT:
3 – 4pm (Registration)
3.30 – 4pm (Practice)
4pm Bombing Starts

ENTRY CRITERIA:
Aged 13 years old and up

FREE REGISTRATION:
Register on the day at the Makino Aquatic Centre from 3 – 4pm and a coloured wrist band will be given to competitors.

PRIZES:
Prizes for the biggest splashes on the day will be awarded as well as a variety of spot prizes will be handed out.

SPECTATORS:
Free entry to the Makino Aquatic Centre for Spectators, everyone is welcome. If using the pools, please pay the required entry fee.
