Simon Sweetman is a writer and podcaster based in Wellington. He lives with his wife Katy, their eight year old son Oscar, with Bowie the dog and Sylvie the Cat. Simon blogs - every day - at his own site Off The Tracks (www.offthetracks.co.nz) a mixture of record and film and book reviews, poetry, stories and essays. He wrote a daily music blog for Stuff.co.nz (Blog On The Tracks) from late 2007 until 2016. His journalism has appeared in The Dominion Post, Sunday Star Times, North & South, Listener, Stuff.co.nz, Rip It Up and many more magazines, newspapers and sites and is a regular commentator for RNZ and occasional segment producer. Simon was the music review for TV's Good Morning from 2005 - 2012. He is the author of a collection of music journalism, On Song, which celebrates 30 of NZ's best-loved songs. And his forthcoming collection of poetry, 'The Death of Music Journalism' is due, via The Cuba Press, in October of 2020. Sweetman's Podcast is a weekly interview show produced and hosted by Simon - it started in 2015 and there are now over 200 episodes celebrating local and international guests who work in the arts.
