The Wish Child

by Catherine Chidgey

This book tells the story of two different children whose lives are caught up in  World War Two, Sieglinde lives in Berlin and Erich lives in the countryside near Leipzig. Their story unfolds through the eyes of another, who is watching all they do. Follow the children’s lives and experience the loss and confusion of war, how they meet and their lives after the war. It’s not till the end, that you find out ‘who is telling the story’. I enjoyed the book and the different way the story unfolded.

Found in the General Fiction Collection.
