The Lightkeeper's Daughters

by Jean E. Pendziwol

Elizabeth is blind. She is in a rest home and when her fathers journals are found she ends up getting Morgan to read them to her. Morgan is a troubled girl who is working in the home for community service. The story goes back to when Elizabeth was a girl living on the shores of Lake Superior, always having to care and protect her frail twin sister. As the journals are read, threads of the families story are revealed.  A friendship develops between Elizabeth and Morgan and Morgan's tough shell slowly crumbles as she warms to the old lady and lets her guard down.

I really enjoyed this book and loved the style of writing.  I would read more from this author if there were more. I give it a 4 out 5 stars.
