Orphan's Tale

by Pam Jenoff

This is one of the best books I have read for a while. Noa is 16 and became pregnant by a Nazi soldier.  She is forced to give up her baby and her father kicks her out of home. Noa works at the railway station and she discovers a boxcar with dozens of Jewish babies inside. Noa grabs one of the babies and runs into the night. She finds refuge with a German circus and bonds with Astrid, a Jewish woman. Their relationship is put under test at times as pieces of both their stories unfold. Will secrets destroy everything?

Found in the General Fiction shelves.
