Hitman Anders and the Meaning of It All
by Jonas Jonasson
This book is similar in style and flow to Jonas's other well-known book – ‘The Hundred-Year-old Man who climbed out of the window and disappeared.’
The main character is an ex-convict – Hitman Anders, but when $5,000 kronors goes missing he suspects that the hotel Receptionist and an atheist priest who is staying at the Hotel have taken it. These two convince Anders that they didn’t take it but have an idea to set up a ‘breaking limbs’ business, hiring out Anders to do the damage for the Swedish underworld. Business booms, money comes rolling in, books are full of ‘hit’s, but when Anders becomes religious, things get rather confused.
Definitely a rather wacky and humorous read.
