Based on a true story of Desmond Doss who was the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.
Desmond joins the army to work as a medic, but due to his faith and his beliefs he finds himself being tested before even getting to the battlefields. Serving as a medic in Okinama during the horrific battle on Hacksaw Ridge, Desmond single handed saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun.
A well paced movie and there is a bonus interview with Desmond himself and some of the soldiers he saved.
This movie can be found in the DVD collection. (it is currently $3 for a week to hire.) The library also holds a copy of the book the movie was based on.
